Trigger Point Therapy

What is a trigger point?

A trigger point is an area of contracted muscle fibres that can be highly sensitive, they are also known as 'knots' in the muscle. The pain caused by trigger points can either stay in the local area or be referred to other areas of the body. Pain can be dull, sharp and/or intense. They can cause muscle dysfunction and weakness, which may become chronic if left without remedy.
